Zehara Nachash is a fourth-generation Witch, Reiki Master, Spiritual Life Coach, and practicing Vodouisant who follows the ancestral veneration and rites of New Orleans Vodou. Her spiritual practice is a rich and evolving tapestry, blending modern Witchcraft, Ceremonial Magick, and New Orleans Vodou into a cohesive path of power, reverence, and service. A devoted servant of Maman Brigitte and the Guede, Zehara weaves folk magic with deep ceremonial knowledge. Raised in Boston, she began exploring the occult early, mastering scrying and tarot by her teens.
Initiated into the Temple of the Seekers in 2004, Zehara formally rose to the rank of High Priestess, serving nearly a decade within the tradition. A prophetic dream in 2012 led her to the path of Vodou—a calling that profoundly shaped her spiritual work and ancestral devotion. She now studies under Mambo Samantha Corfield and the House of the Nine Mysteries, walking the path of New Orleans Vodou with humility, respect, and deep spiritual integrity.
She is a contributor to Witch Way Magazine and the author of Grave Spirits, Snake & Bone's Book of Shadows, and Snake Charming. Zehara teaches regularly at University Magickus and has presented at WitchCon Online, Spectral Evidence, and other international occult and esoteric conferences. An international artist, Zehara has sold her artwork throughout the UK and Europe. She is best known for her one-of-a-kind jewelry and Spirit Bottles, which are her signature magickal creations. Each Spirit Bottle is handcrafted in close communion with the Spirits and imbued with intentional energy for protection, guidance, healing, and ancestral connection. Zehara’s art is deeply rooted in ancestral reverence and spiritual purpose.
For over two decades, Zehara was known as “Boston’s Resident Snake Charmer.” A professional belly dancer and snake priestess, she merged ecstatic dance and ritual performance into a sacred experience. Her appearances include ads, music videos, and theatrical shows that reflected her commitment to transformation and reverence through movement..
Zehara also founded the Pagans Behind Bars Project, which supports incarcerated Pagans and Wiccans across the U.S. She holds a Masters degree in Criminal Justice from Keiser University in Florida and currently lives in Richmond, VA.
